The T5 Tank Sound Project is a site-specific sound project in the field of experimental performance and audio, that will see the commission and development of four new works by leading Sydney-based artists Chris Caines, David Haines, Joyce Hinterding and Gail Priest. Working at the forefront of sound technology, the artists will each develop spatial sound works in response to the historic T5 Tank located at Georges Heights, a landmark new cultural space that sits alongside an international network of remediated tanks including the Tate Modern, UK and the AGNSW's forthcoming Sydney Modern.

The T5 Tank Sound Project is a rare opportunity for these high-calibre artists to come together, sharing their knowledge and experience to develop major new sound works for public presentation in Australia.

The Project will be developed in two stages: Stage One development of new work in 2018 including on-site residencies and Stage Two a major public presentation in the T5 Tank, 2019.

The project is supported by the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust and the Australian Council for the Arts.
