Christine Porter has specialized in recording images of Australia’s rural heritage throughout her career as a professional painter and printmaker since 1990.

She is inspired by the unique light of western Queensland and north western NSW; her subjects are drawn from cattle and sheep stations of this part of Australia.

Her artworks examine issues relating to the impact and changing nature of Australia’s rural industries and describe a way of life at the fringes of urban memory and identity.
