This workshop is perfect for young artists who are passionate about designing their own cartoon/comic book characters. Guided by professional caricaturist and illustrator Sam McNair students will be shown a variety of tricks and techniques to develop their skills. From the very concept of “what is a cartoon character?” i.e. exaggerations of real world characters, stereotypes, juxtapositions etc. the class is student-centred allowing for engaging discussions about students’ inspirational interests. Throughout the workshop there are intermingled student challenges as well as step by step sessions for tricky subjects such as feet, hands, dynamic poses and line weighting.
