Join the Friends of Mosman Art Gallery for a play reading with an exciting twist.

A Question of Attribution is based on Anthony Blunt’s role in the Cambridge Spy Ring and, as Surveyor of the Queen’s Pictures, personal art advisor to Queen Elizabeth II. It portrays his interrogation by MI5 officers, his work researching and restoring art, and his relationship with the Queen.

Playwright Alan Bennett described the piece as an “inquiry in which the circumstances are imaginary but the pictures are real”. The New York Times called it a “razor-sharp psychological melodrama”.

Alan Bennett (pictured) has written many television, stage and radio plays, along with screen plays, short stories, novellas, as well as being a broadcaster and actor. He is well known for his TV series, Talking Heads and plays The Madness of King George and History Boys.

Director Alex Broun is one of the world’s leading ten minute playwrights and the Artistic Director of Short+Sweet Theatre, the world’s largest 10 minute play festival. He has had plays produced all over the world and you can read and download many of his plays free of charge at www.alexbroun.com.
